Senior School Wellbeing.
Supporting young people as they navigate the complexities of adolescence while prioritising their wellbeing, is at the core of our approach in the Senior School. At Masada College, we are deeply committed to fostering an environment where students feel valued, empowered, and supported in every aspect of their personal and academic journey. Our wellbeing initiatives and programs are designed to support students academically, emotionally, and socially throughout their educational journey.
Academic Care within our College is a comprehensive approach that nurtures students’ academic success while supporting their emotional and social development. There is a strong focus on building a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel recognised, motivated, valued for who they are and equipped to achieve their very best.
Our Academic Care Team collaborates closely with all College staff to approach student wellbeing with genuine care. By providing personalised support through continuous progress monitoring, and recognition of individual achievements, we aim to foster both academic and personal growth.
Each year group has a dedicated Year Patron, providing guidance and personalised support to each and everyone of our students. Our Year Patrons are committed to fostering a positive and supportive environment, ensuring students feel valued, heard, and encouraged to thrive. In our senior years, each student has a dedicated mentor which aims to add an additional layer of support during their final years of study.
Our Wellbeing Program is tailored to suit different age groups and developmental stages, offering programs and information that promotes resilience, personal growth, and emotional wellbeing. Through structured initiatives, workshops, engaging discussions and dynamic presentations, we empower students to navigate challenges and build a strong foundation for future success. Key components of our wellbeing program include:
- Social & Emotional Learning – Students engage in structured programs that develop resilience, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills.
- Mental Health Support – Access to professional counselling services through our College Psychologist, peer support groups, and mental health awareness initiatives. Our team also works with external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Bullying Prevention & Online Safety – Workshops and resources to educate students on respectful relationships, cyber safety, and conflict resolution.
-
Leadership & Personal Growth – There are a number of opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, self-confidence, and a sense of responsibility within the school community.
- Community & Family Engagement – Collaboration with families and external wellbeing providers to create a supportive network for students and a holistic approach to the support we offer.
- Co- curricular opportunities –Students can select from a vast range of co- curricular activities based on their personal interests and hobbies. Some of what we have on offer includes fitness club, music, debating, mock trial, coding and chess to name a few.
- Support for our International Students – An additional layer of support is provided to our International students by our Head of International Affairs and Student Liaison who works closely with our Year Patrons and broader staff to ensure our International students have successfully transitioned to life in Australia and their time within an Australian school.
Our dedicated Academic Care Team ensures a proactive not reactive approach to student wellbeing and to help students develop a range of tools and strategies to navigate life’s challenges and complexities.
