As a Jewish community, we understand the profound connection between people and their ancestral land. With this awareness, we acknowledge the Darug people as the traditional owners of the land on which Masada College stands.
Just as we are the indigenous people of the land of Israel, the Darug people are the First Nations people of this country. They are people with an ancient language culture and spiritual tradition that continues to this day, and we pay our respect to their Elders past and present.
We honour their enduring connection to this land and recognise the sacred bond between people and their country. As we teach out students about our own journey from exile to return, we stand in solidarity with the Darug people’s continuing presence to their ancestral home.
